Umbreon Plushie

Well,  after many *many* requests,  I finally did an Umbreon.  I know this will bring about an onslaught of requests for the other 'Eevee-lutions'  and yes I'll get to them all...  eventually :D    It just depends on my yarn stash,  my time and well --- motivation.  LOL
As with all the patterns,  if you have any problems or if you notice anything wrong in the pattern  (I'm prone to typos LOL)  let me know and I'll get back to ya as soon as I can :D

Rnd 22: sc in next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (36)

Rnd 30: dec over next 2 sc around (6)
F/O. Add any stuffing needed to finish the shaping and weave the tail thread through the final round, pull gently to close up the small opening. Secure and weave in the tail yarn.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (16)
Rnd 3: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc around (24)

Rnd 16: sc in next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc (24)
Stuff head firmly while shaping, pay particular attention to the 'nose' area. The head should be pinned to the upper portion of the body (roughly rnds 24-30) with nose area facing forward (the two 'points' of the neck shaping create the cape that create the gentle curve of the neckline. ) See photos to help with placement.

F/O. Add any stuffing needed to finalize the shaping and weave in tail.

FINAL ASSEMBLY:

I highly recommend that you pin all parts together before you begin to sew them, to make certain all parts are as you like and in the position you prefer.

Head is sewn to body as shown, take your time and pin the head on first, making sure that the neck is adequately stuffed, and that the 'nape' of the neck is positioned so as to create the curve of the neck. (See the pictures to help you position the head)

For the yellow markings, cut 5 oval shapes from yellow felt, then cut out the center of each to make the 'rings'. Pin one of them to the head, between the ears and slightly to the front. The other four are each sewn onto the 'shoulders' of the leg pieces. You can do this before you sew the legs to the body, but I would recommend that you first pin the legs in the positions you want on the body, and then pin the markings to the legs as you prefer them, then unpin the legs and sew on the markings (or you can wait to add the markings after sewing on the legs.)

When sewing the legs on, you will probably want to add a little stuffing under each 'shoulder'. Not much stuffing is generally required here, just enough to give a very slight 'roundness' to the shoulder/hip area – and make a smooth transition from leg to 'body'.

Ears and tail are positioned and sewn on as shown.

Eyes are cut from red and black felt scraps, in shapes as shown. Catch lights are very small pieces of white felt.

  1. Wow! SO cute! If only I could crochet...

Umbreon has always been one of my favorite eeveeloutions. Ever since I was just a caterpie, Pokemon has been close to my heart. It's awesome to see that people get into it in such creative ways!

Keep up the good work, and take your time with those Eeveeloutions!

  6. I am incredibly confused, and maybe I'm just confusing myself here, but maybe you can clarify for me? I'm on Row 4 of the Front Legs.

Rnd 4: 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in each of next 2 sc, sc in next sc, dec over last 2 sc (8)

    What I'm reading is 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 1. Isn't that 11 stitches? I'm assuming one of these increases should actually be a decrease (possibly more than one?) but I'm not sure which one(s). Is this a typo or are my eyes tired?

    ReplyDelete
  7. That was a typo, I apologize (I'm really good at makes those, and I try to proof read several times to clear them out, but I missed that).

I fixed, it, the first stitch is supposed to be a dec.

The row should end up like:

dec, sc, inc, inc, sc, dec

(so that you end up with 8 total sc still, but you're creating a tiny 'bend' in the foot/ankle area)

  16. Wagh! I love this and I've been working on it, but I'm a wee bit stuck at one part, and it's embarassing because it's fairly soon.

Round 13 of the body asks to crochet ten and then decrease over next two sc around; what exactly does this mean? I crochet from patterns a lot but haven't seen a decrease written in such a way. I understand there needs to be three decreases from the ending stitch count, but where should they be placed? Do they need to be spaced or lumped all at once? Thanks for any help!

    ReplyDelete
  17. It means to sc in each of the next 10 sc, then make a decrease over the next 2 sc, then repeat that sequence (sc in next 10, decrease) around to the end of the round.

    :D

  28. Beautiful! I'm in the process of designing an umbreon as well. What are the dimensions of your version?

    ReplyDelete
  29. All my dolls end up around 8-10 inches tall. I would imagine that Umbreon is a little taller, because of the ears, but not by very much.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I just finished this one. I love it. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  31. Your patterns are always so cute and accurate. I've been looking for a good Umbreon pattern for ages. Thank you so much for posting this. :) Your patterns made me want to make my own.

    ReplyDelete
  32. would you ever consider selling a creation? and also you should create a snorlax!

    ReplyDelete
  33. At the moment, I don't have any way to mail out the dolls and because of that I don't sell them online. I might do so in the future if I get a way to mail them out (we live in the boondocks and currently don't have a post office within 45 minutes of us, but who knows what will happen in the future :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I just finished my Umbreon today, and he looks awesome! Not nearly as good as yours, of course, since I am a beginner crocheter, but I found the instructions clear and easy to follow. This was the first of your Pokemon patterns I've used and I'm excited to try more. Thank you SO much for sharing!

  35. Hi again! :) I just finally finished my Espeon version of this pattern. I was wondering if you'd like to use/post my modifications? Or if it would be all right with you for me to post them on Craftster? I don't have a blog, and I would link to this post for the majority of the pattern. I have a variation on the ears, a pattern for the "tufts" at the side of her face, a new tail... and that's basically it. Most of it is "work as from Umbreon pattern." *lol* Anyway, just wondered what the best way would be to go about sharing my version.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's perfectly fine to post your Espeon on Craftster, with your changes and a link to the Umbreon pattern.

    I can't wait to see it! :D

  38. Was looking online for patterns for a Link or Sonic outfit to make for my 6yr old son and came across this and just fell in love. I've so got to make this cute Pokemon for him maybe I'll just have him dress up as Ash instead and make a Pikachu to go along. (would be so much easier than Link). Is there possibly any Pikachu style open top bags anyone may know of?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Umbreon was, and still is, my favorite pokemon. I'm so happy you made such a wonderful pattern! I can't wait to try it out. I also plan to use several of your other pokemon patterns to make gifts for my boyfriend who absolutely loves pokemon. Never mind then our respective parents will think we're both nuts lol. Thank you for the patterns, and keep up the good work!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wow! This pattern is awesome! Thanks so much for posting it!

I do have a question though... What is the finished size? Likewise, how many skeins of black yarn did you need? I have about 1 and 1/4 skeins of black and a full skein of yellow. Yellow shouldn't be a problem, but I just wanted to see if I needed more black yarn or not.

Any additional info would be appreciated and I look forward to seeing more Eeveelutions!!!

    Happy crocheting!

    ReplyDelete
  41. She stands about 8 inches high, and you won't need a whole skein of black... very very few of my dolls take more than one skein of any color yarn, actually... only Lugia really comes close to needing more than a skein.

I try to keep the dolls rather uniform in size and still small enough not to need a ton of yarn :D

    ReplyDelete
  42. Dear WolfDreamer,
I have a question on round 11. I was wondering what kind of decrease you would use. So for example an invisible decrease or a regular decrease. thx. ^^

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well, what *type* of decrease you use is really dependent on what you're most comfortable with. Personally, I use invisible decreases when working in the round (and standard decreases when working in rows).

If you are comfortable using the invisible decrease, I do highly recommend it where ever possible. :D

    ReplyDelete
  44. What decrease did you use for the whole pattern, if you dont mind me asking.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I used invisible decreases, as I normally do on dolls.

Not everyone is as comfortable with them, which is why I leave that choice up to the individuals :D

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hey again,
sorri but could you please help me on the leg(front, right). im confused because in row 15 do you just keep going? in other words you know how in the row before you are just working on 6 stitches, do you keep working on the 6 or do you continue in the circle?

    ReplyDelete
  47. You turn and work back over the 6 stitches. :D

    ReplyDelete
  48. hey i am working on it still well i am on the back legs but i am stuck on round 8 you say two sc and then 2 sc in the next around what do you mean becuase i keep getting 10 not 12 and the same with the next step how dose it turn into 18 am i getting it wroung some how i just don't know what two do thankyou christina aka cfreaper2

    ReplyDelete
  49. Round 8 is: 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in the next sc (repeat that sequence around to the end of the round) So you're increasing in every OTHER stitch of the round to end up with 12 sc.

Rnd 10 says repeat round 8. You do exactly the same sequence (sc, inc, sc, inc, etc) (on your 12 sc you have now) and you will end up with 18 sc in the round.

    ReplyDelete
  50. hi,
have you ever considerd making a wolf???? i mean your name is wolfdreamer? i really want to make a wolf but there are no good free patterns. thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm really confused on the front shoulders.
    it says...
    Right leg:
Row 13: sc in next 6 sc, leave remaining sc unworked, ch 1 and turn (6)
Row 14: sc in each sc across (6)
Row 15: sc in next 4 sc, dec over last 2 sc, ch 1 and turn (5)
Row 16: sc in next 3 sc, dec over last 2 sc (4)
what i get confused about is at the end of row 14 are you supposed to chain up and turn? or just continue with 4 sc? and the same for the rest of the rows? because i just kept on the same row and it does not look right at all. could you please elaborate more?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sorry, yes, you do ch1 and turn.

I have amended the pattern to reflect the turning on each row, so it won't be so confusing now :D

    ReplyDelete
  53. u should do vaporeon next. also a good pair to try are Lunatone and Solrock.

  56. Question. I saw this and was curious, it's not in your shop but can I still request one and buy it from you? Because I would love to have a little Umbreon but I have no idea how to crochet.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh dear. Just realized that since Pokemon is copyrighted you probably can't sell these plushes can you? Well, I suppose I'll have to learn how to crochet then. This should be interesting...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well in general, I don't sell any dolls online at all. Primary reason being I don't have a post office to mail them from. I'd have to drive to a town I never go to, except very seldom - and its 45 minutes away from me.

That's one of the many reasons I offer the patterns for free online.

Now... if you decide to learn to crochet, I feel obliged to give you fair warning - it's highly addictive and may cause:
    bleary eyes
uncontrollable urge to buy every skein of yarn you see
ability to stay awake long past bedtime just to finish that special project
irrational joy at giving the gift of home-made love!

    :D

    ReplyDelete
  59. I have to say that I adore you for this.

My daughter and I are separated right now and have been for some time. (Unlawful tactics used by her father, but that is a long story.) When I see her again, I would love to give her all the Eevees as gifts, as Pokemon is an addiction she inherited from me, but even this Umbreon will be wonderful. If/when you post any of the others, I will be one of the first to shower thanks on you.

Beautiful work. I do hope I can achieve the level of quality you have.

  60. Hello!
I discovered your blog lately when I had the idea to knit a Pokemon for my grand-son aged 6 1/2 who is a total fan! First of all,I want to congratulate you for your beautiful creations and thank you for sharing the explanations with us.I first made a pokeball(very quick and easy to make) and I have just finished UMBREON which was my grandson's choice.Although I am not a very expert knitter or crocheter ,thanks to your explanations and good advice, the result is satisfactory even if it is far from being as nice as yours! My grandson is positively delighted!!Now he would like me to make Lugia!!! Why doesn't he choose the easiest ones???I might still give it a try later on, it will be a good challenge...

I am going to keep an eye on your site :-) Thank you for posting your patterns for the rest of us Pokemon lovers!!! My younger brother will probably thank you for the Mario and Luigi plushy patterns when I get around to making them LOL.

I don't suppose you'd be willing to try making a Haunter next? If you ever do decide to, or are able to sell these, I would definitely love to buy a Haunter <3 <3 <3 :D

  64. How awesome. This is my best friend's favorite Pokemon, and I'm looking forward to making it for his 21st birthday! Just something to remind him that even though he's technically an adult, there's nothing wrong with still being a kid.

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that, even though this pattern is way too advanced for me as of yet, I really appreciate the challenge!

Thanks for doing what you do. I really appreciate you.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Well, I would like to know with wich size of needle you did the umbreon. Thanks so much for sharing your patterns with us! :D I really apreciate your work *_*

    ReplyDelete
  66. All the dolls I make were made with a G hook. (4.00 mm)

It always states this in the materials list :D

    ReplyDelete
  67. Awww, this Umbreon is SO CUTE!!! X3 I made up a Flying-type Eeveeloution that I named "Cirreon." It looks like this except with red, yellow, and blue feathers (sorry if links and urls are not allowed in comments) http://flipnote.hatena.com/50698D80A0EFD89A@DSi/movie/EFD89A_0A3CCA40C6E76_000?in=user Is it OK if I use the Umbreon pattern to try and make my made up Cirreon? :3

  68. I just learned to crochet last summer, and once school started up again, I've had very little time for it. This coming week is our Spring Break, and I'll be on an airplane for about 10 hours, not including layover time. Guess what I'll be doing!!

Eventually, I'd like to attempt all forms of Eevee (the original 5 that I care about.) Thank you for having such an incredible collection of awesome patterns that make nerds like me into the crafty sort!

I love Umbreon so very much!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. I absolutely love your dolls! I have been disabled for 6yrs(back surgery gone horribly wrong). Most of the time I am confined to my bed and have really begun to appreciate that I can knit and crochet. My daughter-in-law loves Pokemon. For Christmas I learned how to crochet and made her a Pokeball hat. She loves it! I think I'm going to be sneaky and find out which characters she likes and crochet them for her. I think I like these because they are relatively easy and quick. They come in handy when you are working on a big project and need something to break the monotony. Thank you so much for your time and talent!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Question:
what did you use to pin the head onto the body?

    ReplyDelete
  71. You make beautiful patterns! I really love this umbreon, it looks perfect! Soon, I'll get the chance to crochet this, maybe during the summer, I'm currently busy crocheting an oshawott hat. I was wondering, when can you post a pattern for an espeon?

    ReplyDelete
  72. I personally have not made an espeon, however one of my followers used this umbreon as a base for her espeon, and she posted the pattern modifications here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=356831.0

It's really very good. She's a talented young lady :D

    ReplyDelete
  73. WoW. Thats verry nice. Thank you

    ReplyDelete
  74. I love it! I had no idea there was a website with all these little crocheted "guys"! Thank you for your creativity----I only have one problem, is there some way I can print out the patterns without all the comments? It takes as many as 36 pages of wasted paper to get one pattern, and I'm on Social Security so that's a huge expenditure. Can I "set" something on the printer to exclude the comment pages? Thank you for any advice you have!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I love this! i finished crocheting everything but just had a few questions. What did you use to get the felt eyes onto the body, and would you recommend using yarn for the yellow markings?

    ReplyDelete
  76. I am BLOWN AWAY by not only your TALENT but Generousity!
Thank you so very much. Never before have I ever donated to a website for creative talents and thoughtless giving but will be to YOU.
    Thank You.
    Cheers.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Wow! You are amazing :)
One question... could I use DK yarn instead of WW, or would it have an effect?
    <3 Umbreon forever <3

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yes, you can use DK weight, but I would recommend also using a smaller hook (perhaps c or d)...or whatever size will produce a night tight stitch where the stuffing won't show through :D

    ReplyDelete
  79. I love your patterns! I made a Pokeball from your pattern and was linked to this pattern from an Espeon pattern I found on AH! Creations.

I do have one question though. I am a little confused about attaching the head to the body. At the end of the section for the head/neck, you wrote:

The head should be pinned to the upper portion of the body (roughly rnds 24-30)

What confuses me is that I'm only seeing 16 rounds for the head...not 24-30. Could you clarify, please? Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Lovely pattern, I'm just stuck when it comes to doing the left leg shoulders. When I crochet I'm already looking at the 'wrong' side and the stitches I'm currently working on is at the back. I was just wondering what I would then do when it comes for me to turn the piece and look at the other side to make the shoulder come out the inverse of the right? Sorry if that doesn't make much sense, but thankyou for this pattern anyway :)

    ReplyDelete
  81. I must try him. I'm currently designing Vaporeon myself; I saw this site and told my friend I'd make him his favorite Pokemon, and it turned out you haven't made him yet! So now my crocheting rite of passage is making a passable Vaporeon. :P

    ReplyDelete
  82. Great pattern! I'm gonna attempt this for my niece. Are you going to make a bulbasaur pattern in the future? My son was wanting this one. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful patterns.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Hi! I love your pattern for the umbreon (: I made one myself, and it's absolutely adorable!

Would you please make an absol? I'd really appreciate it! Then I'd have my two favorite pokemon <3

    ReplyDelete
  84. Have you ever thought of making Arceus, Dialga, and Palkia? Because that would be way awesome. And Vulpix would be super cute. :D

    ReplyDelete
  85. I have made two of these as gifts for a few of my Pokemon crazy friends and they absolutely love them! Now its time to make one for myself, thanks so much for the pattern :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. Awesome pattern! It's easy to understand and the pictures really help. I just finished this as a gift for a friend :) Whenever I make these, though, I always have a problem with the fiberfill being pulled through the stitches when sewing the pieces together. This problem is especially true with the black yarn against white fiberfill. Do you have any advice for this?

    ReplyDelete
  87. well they do have a dark colored fiberfill... but it's hard to find and rather expensive when you do.

My best advice is to make your stitches tight (use a smaller size hook if you work loose) and try not to 'over stuff' your pieces. You need them firm, but not so much that they start to show the fiberfill.

It's a dance, but you learn as you go :D

    ReplyDelete
  88. OMG! i love this website! im 13 and im doing these pokedolls!!!! anyway, is it posible for u to make a latias and latios? they're my absolute FAVORITES!!!!!!!! Thanks sooooooo much for this website cuz now i have almost the whole set! i go in order from the top and im on umbreon!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Great job, was so thrilled that I've done me right to work.
But unfortunately I have a problem with the head

Rnd 12: sc in next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (24)

What do you mean? I can not manage to reach 24 sc. : (
    Can you please explain that?!

BTW, I'm from Germany (forgive my poor English) maybe its that the reason why I do not understand it xD

    LG From Germany :3

    ReplyDelete
  90. Sc in each of the next 2 sc, then decrease over the next 2 sc, repeat that sequence around to the beginning of the round.

You're decreasing 8 stitches evenly over the round :D

    ReplyDelete
  91. Omg, now I understand it -.-
at the end of the round so I close off with 2 dec.
I thought I would finish with two sc.

    Newbie mistakes ^^

    Thanks for the quick answer

    ReplyDelete
  92. i just got finished with this little guy. he was suppose to be for me but my one year old found him and feel in love. now i dont have the heart to take it back.. Ohh well time to make another lol :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Before I start (which will be soon) I want to know how big this guy is ^-^ because crocheters like us fill up space fast(; and I admit it...... YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE MY FLOOR!!!!!! But if I fall it's squishy so that's good(:

    ReplyDelete
  94. It's about 8 inches tall, and nearly 12 inches long (perhaps a bit longer, I can reach the top shelf to get it down to measure right now LOL)

Nearly all my dolls are in the 8-10 inch range... with a few exceptions. :D

    ReplyDelete
  95. Im halfway through giving this project a try, and i have to say that its all sorts of fun! lol. Ive managed to screw up three legs so far, but ive gotten it don.. i think. Thanks a ton for posting this! Ill deffinately be trying the others somewhere in the future!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Thank you so much for the pattern! I'm having a difficult time attaching the legs. What do you do with the flaps of flat fabric that are at the tops of the legs (on the left legs, this is at the backs of the legs, and on the right at the front)? Also, when attaching the legs, do they go on Umbreon's respective right and left or my right and left when I'm looking at him? Sorry for the silly questions!

    ReplyDelete
  97. They are the 'hips' and 'shoulders'. They go to the outside of the body. If you need more shaping on the front or back legs, you can add a tiny bit of stuffing to give them more dimension. :D

These flaps allow you to place the legs in a more upright fashion rather than the 'stiff' look of most patterns :D

    ReplyDelete
  98. Nevermind on my previous comment with the question on the legs. I'm an idiot and figured it out. Thanks again for this awesome pattern!!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thank you for your quick response. You're so kind. I just had all of my my feet twisted around the wrong way so I was baffled. Your pattern is going to make a certain little girl very happy on Christmas morning! :)

Give them a call. Thanks again. Maybe u can help me.Ive been trying to find a pattern for acrocheted piece I bought at a church sale. Its on a grid, with dc and it ruffles as go. I made a Shiny Glaceon using this pattern. If you want I could add a link to some pictures... I didn't write down what I did as I was just winging it for the ears, tail, hairfalls and diamonds. But maybe the pictures would help! The diamonds I used this weird stich that's like crochet mixed with knitting almost... That produces squares... And all I did was make three lil ones of 4x4 for the head diamonds... Two 5x5 for ears... Then back I did like this 12x12 one.... (12 stitches by 12 rows.... Makes a solid square, like no row gaps or anything...)

  105. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. My 5 year old loves me atm lol.

Now i have done this one, he has taken a look at all your other patterns and i have to go yarn shopping (not really a chore :P ).

I am pretty certain that my free time over the next few months will be taken up crocheting pokemon.

  108. I'm having a hard time getting the ears and tail started at all. They keep getting bunched up after finishing the first row and the black yarn makes it hard to see the work. Got any advice on how to get around this? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  109. I was just wondering what gauge hook you used for this? I didn't see it listed and I am sure I can figure it out. But just for curiosity's sake.

  114. I Don't see an Ears section, It looks like its just the same as the tail but im not quite sure. Anybody please answer my question.

    ReplyDelete
  115. The ears section begins immediately to the right of the picture of Umbreon from the side (a ways down the page)

    ReplyDelete
  116. Thanks! Sorry, sometimes i can be blind... LOL now that i know that I'll get started! I admire your work by the way! Some day i hope to be like you and make my own patterns... Okay, sorry for rambling. Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'm having an issue getting the tail to stay up whenever I sew it on. Do you have any tips?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Make sure that the part of the tail that will contact the body is very well stuffed (but not so much so that the stuffing comes through the stitches. The 'firmer' the stuffing of the very bottom of the tail, the better the tail will stand up.

It will also require that you VERY securely sew the tail to the body. It takes a little experience to get these parts to always stand up...but trial and error will get you there. :D

    ReplyDelete
  119. Thanks so much!! I still don't have it the same as the picture, but it's standing up well enough.

    ReplyDelete
  120. thank you so so much for sharing, this is the best site ever and your projects turn out AMAZING!
if your deciding what to make next, could you consider making Rapidash and/or Vulpix?
    thanks again!

  121. Hi! I just have a quick question: even when I follow the pattern, I end up with more stitches per round than it says I should... Any suggestions? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  123. I have a question. For the front legs, the pattern isn't making sense. Round three you end with 8 stitches, but then you have this: Rnd 4: dec over next 2 sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in each of next 2 sc, sc in next sc, dec over last 2 sc (8)

    Could you clarify this please?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Never mind. As I played with it I figured it out.

  126. Hi!

First of all i want to tell you i LOVE your work!
And i'm definitly going to try to make several patterns of your blog...

And Umbreon is my first to try..
I already got the body without problems.
But i made the head, and it seems like it's way tooo tiny to fit the body...

Is there something wrong with the pattern or did i just do something wrong? :s

  134. I love your pattern but I am having a bit of a problem with rd 11 on the head/neck. It says
sc in next 14 sc, * dec over next 2 sc * repeat ** 3 more times, sc in remaining 14 sc (32). I can't get this to add to 32. If you could help me out that would be amazing because I really want to finish this pattern. I love Pokemon and Umbreon is one of my favorite Eveelutions!

    ReplyDelete
  135. Are the front legs made as 2 or one set and is it the same for them back

    ReplyDelete
  136. I absolutely love this :) I'm working on my own little cute guy right now!!! But I have a question, it may be a little silly, but

I'm working on the left front leg and for the shoulder part, you say to turn it so the wrong side is facing out.. do you mean flip the whole leg (don't stuff it and flip the whole thing) or just the shoulder section while the rest of the front leg directions were as followed?

I appreciate any feedback and the pattern itself!!!! I'm making this little Umbreon for my boyfriend, I know he is going to flip when he sees it =)

    ReplyDelete
  139. Thank you so much for your patterns they are so cute! I have a problem with the shoulders though.
    Can you help me?
    On Left Leg it says:
"Turn work so that the 'inside' of the work (wrong side of work) is facing you. Complete rows 13-16 as described for right leg.

So do you mean turn it inside out?
I thought the inside of the leg was already facing me as I work in rounds anyway??
    Thank you for your help!
I'd love to finish this one.

  140. I'm confused with the head on round 11 please explain to me what it means? I finally made the pokeball love it! I really want to make umbreon.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I'm confused with the body on round 3
    BODY:

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12)
Rnd 3: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc around (18) This round ends with 23, not 18 as the patron says D=

    I don't understand T_T

    ReplyDelete
  142. i'm quite confuse with the head as i've done 20 rows, and the head is a bit long @@. idk if i should finish it to see what it's like. Please tell me if it looks long in rows 20 :((.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Hey, are the right legs supposed to be left with the wrong side facing outwards? O.o

Unfortunately, I'm having a very difficult time with the ears as they get bunched up and I have a heck of a time finding the stitch and getting my hook into it. I would LOVE if you could give me any advice that could help me, I've tried putting stitch markers in every stitch but that hasn't really helped much. I would hate to get as far as the ears and have to stop because I can't seem to figure them out. :(

Thanks in advance! And thanks for the awesome pattern! :)

    ReplyDelete
  152. I'm on row 4 for the body. And it said after the 18. There is 24. But it doesn't seem accurate to me. I'm not understanding even the begining.

    ReplyDelete
  153. In round 3 you work one sc in the next sc then 2 sc in the following sc. Repeat this to end of round resulting in 18 sc in the round.

Do this on each increase round (adding one sc between each increase sc) to increase each round evenly by 6 stitches.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Have you considered making templates for the felt pieces? I have a hard time cutting them out right on my own.

    Love your patterns.

I would like to make a life sized eeveelution and they all have the same body type so was wondering if you could help put this to scale? Im specifically making a flareon but am haveing a horrid time figuring out sizeing for her. In game they are listed as 2ft 11in if it helps...

  167. How is it that when I use the size of hook listed, the project is half the size as the one pictured?

    ReplyDelete
  168. Either your tension, or mostly likely the yarn you're using.

Some yarns are loftier (full of air) and so crush down as you crochet.

This is why I prefer redheart super saver. It's a sense yarn so go E you a firm fabric using the G hook.

  174. Hi. I'm working on the row section of the back legs, and I can't get the math to add up. After row 2, I have 8 stitches. Then I chain 1, turn, and I'm supposed to sc in the next 7, and then decrease over 2. According to my math, that's a total of 9 stitches, and not the 8 I have left from the previous row.

Question is, should I a) have 9 stitches after row 2, or b) sc in 6, and then decrease over 2?

  178. Hello, I love this pattern the result looks awesome. Sorry to bother you, but my daughter is crocheting this for her self. She got the front leg. Rnd 3 end at 8. But round 4 you: dec 2, sc , inc 2, sc, dec 2. Wouldn't this with have 4 decreased and 2 increase make the final stitch to be 6?

Again really do look the look of this, just try to assist my daughter understanding it.

  182. It is legal to sell crochet items made from any designer's pattern. Copyright law only applies to the distribution of the pattern itself, not to any items made from the pattern. Despite any language to the contrary, there are no legal repercussions for selling crochet items

Copyright protection clearly applies to a pattern itself — meaning the written-out language of the pattern and any accompanying photos and charts. But the protection that the designer gets under copyright law only protects the designer’s right to control how their pattern is distributed. Nothing in the statute extends that protection to include an actual item that was made by using the pattern.

  183. I just finished making one. I love how it turned out. Wish I could post a pic. Thank you so much. This is the first thing I’ve crocheted and this is what inspired me to try.
